Inside our second casa paticulare in Trinidad
On Dec 31 2012, Mylene and I made our way from Mexico City to Havana Cuba. What follows are some excerpts from my journals and a few of the better photos. Cuba is highly photogenic and I took over 2,000 photos in 3 weeks. Don’t worry, most are garbage and will hit the cutting room floor. Or hotel floor or hostel or tent or whatever. Staying in casa particulares was enjoyable and a cheap alternative to hotels. Cubans are very friendly and happy to have you stay in their home. The food was always better in the houses than the restaurants, so we rarely ate out. The 3 week trip cost USD1,100 each. We even got a rather harrowing scuba dive into the Bay of Pigs in there… note: bring your own gear if you plan to scuba dive in Cuba.
